Sport Clips

Today I had my second haircut from Sport Clips in La Quinta, CA. Also the second time Ive received a bad haircut.

This time, 5/17/25, was the worst haircut Ive received in my life. I always get a zero fade. By definition, it is A zero fade is a type of taper fade where the hair is cut extremely short along the sides and back, leaving a small amount of stubble, typically around 0.5mm. It's distinguished from a skin fade, which takes the hair all the way down to the scalp.

The stylist, Courtney was cutting my hair and she had confirmed by readback that I wanted a zero fade. She proceeded to fade it normally but started using the beard shaver which brought my zero fade to a skin fade. Im a 43 year old man, and with a zero fade, I look like either a 16 year old or someone balding on the sides, which I am neither. I was so angry, I didnt even finish with my haircut or my usual MVP service after the haircut.

I asked her why she cut my hair like this, and she said that this is what a zero fade is, and that everyone who comes in asking for a zero fade gets this. She even proceeded to tell me it looks good and doesnt look bad. She said itll be back to normal tomorrow! Im not a werewolf, my hair doesnt grow back that fast!

In addition, upon arrival, I had added my wife to the list to get a haircut after me. Her name was on the board to be serviced next, and when she came in, her name had been removed from the list! This is the last time Ill be using Sport Clips as my stylist.

Prior to this, Ive been going to Sport Clips for the past few years with no problems until I moved to this La Quinta. My family and I really did like coming to Sport Clips for our hair needs, so this is unfortunate.

We have had a lot of chaos going on at my location for a long time now. I'm not sure what else to do or how to get help because no one listens.

We have had managers that were stealing personally from employees, stealing money from the store, and stealing products. I've gotten a bunch of complaints as a stylist about our management, and clients are not comfortable with what's going on, and they don't want to come back because of management. We have extremely bad turnover, and our store has resulted in fewer clients coming back because of these issues. The management does not communicate new rules and regulations; they didn't make us aware of prices changing.

They changed managers completely and didn't tell anyone. The management has lied about stylists to get them in trouble on purpose for things they didn't do. A lot of retaliation and unrightful things happen at this location.

My coworkers are scared and uncomfortable at work. The clients are uncomfortable as well, and they have personally told me themselves.

I had used the app to book a place in the cue for a particular stylist. The app told me to report by 9:30.

On my way over the app told me to report by 10.

I called the store to ask why and they said they took a walk in. I asked them what was the point of using the app. I was told that this was a corporate policy and that even the owners have no control over that.

I have been a customer for 5 years at this location and have noticed a steady lack of latitude that local staff has and a cutback from promotions dictated by corporate.

This was the last straw. I went to a competitor, got my hair cut and provided you this feed back all in the time I would have been waiting for your walk in to be serviced.

I hope for your sake that this walk in was worth losing two customers over (myself and my son).

I did your local workers the courtesy of canceling by spot in the line up before I would have been up. But I wont be back.
