Buzzcut for Graduation

I have taken my son for over a year to Sports Clips and have been VERY happy until today. We asked for a TRIM!

The hair cutter asked my son if previously they used scissors or just a razor on his hair, why they would ask this for a trim is confusing. The girl took exactly 6 minutes to cut my sons hair. That is a total of 15 minutes including shampoo, neck massage and cut. My son has heart problems and has worked hard to get through his last year of school only to be so upset he can't eat and doesn't want to go to school because of his almost bald head.

I asked the girl why she gave him a buzz cut and she said because that is what he always gets. Um, HELLO!! My son is not the Military ROTC kid she mistook him for. No refund, no free haircut, NO APOLOGY and no explanation except "Sorry I thought he was someone else".

As a mom I am so pissed that this girl had no reguard for her "mistake".

Whoever marked this post as *** has pissed me off further, it is easy to say it is *** but it is the god swearing TRUTH, and I have the photos to PROVE my son got a Buzzcut for Graduation. Those marking my post as false are most likely the hair cutter herself X 5.

It's a sad day when those who make mistakes can't stand up own it and learn from it. This board is here for consumers, prospective customers and those customers who have experienced the ill fated bad/poor/unfortunate actions of service providers.

Yes, honey of a hair cutter in question ...own it and grow from it.

You're wrong. In fact I marked your post down because this seems untrue.

Asking if scissors or CLIPPERS were used is a valid question. Clearly you were not specific in what you wanted, the stylist is not a mind reader. Next time research the cut you want so there are no questions.

Parents like you *** off all stylists. Grow up and get over it, hair grows.

The original post was by a mother that took her son in for a haircut the child did not know what the hairdresser used the last time. A child or even a teeenager does not pay attention to what the stylist is using, it was a valid question by the stylist but not a good situation for the child.

If the stylist was unsure of clippers or scissors she should have asked the parent not the child. The parents or adults are not allowed in the back with the children while they're getting their hair cut, the parent did not see or hear the conversation the stylist had with the child and should have walked out and asked the parent.

Job Interviews.

I was very excited to see their post on Craiglists about a place hiring, and what they put in much need and I was very willing. I know this has to be about service but once I walked in the doctor and went to the front desk, the girl looked at me, and said very rudely "What do you want?" I answered nicely, obviously, I am there for a job and she simply rolled her eyes and bought someone else out whom didn't say a word but handed me a papers. I finished, waited 20 minutes before I was lead to the back for her to say, "The boss isn't here, and I believe they already hired someone so I don't think you'll get the job." Why put me though the whole process? I was in a good mood that day so I didn't let it show but getting home, it stinked in. But I guess that's the real world for you. I just don't like how the front desk girls gave service. They really need a whole new set up.

We must have gone to the same one because I had the same experience. Zaragoza?

Man, the girls there are rude, I was there for a haircut, came in, signed in, and she got mad because I signed in without asking.

Aren't you suppose to? Then she called my name, and was tapping her foot like I needed to hurry up, explained what I wanted , I got an eye roll and explained to me how that was "out of style." I asked her if there was another stylist I could have done with and she said no.

So I told her I didn't want my haircut here and left, as I left I heard her say 'good luck'. *** man.

Bad haircut

I went to sportclips in Nampa , Idaho today for a haircut and the stylist that I had her name was Loretta and she was rude, she talked about all of her co-workers, (like I care), and seemed not to care due to the fact that my haircut was uneven, maybe if she spent more time paying attention to my hair and not gossiping then I would of gotten a better cut. And she was talking about all of the tips that she made at work. Wow! Unprofessional. I Will not be back and will not recommend sport clips of nampa to anyone ever. I feel that I could of gotten a better cut else where and she baby talked me too not a fan.

Maybe women's styling salons are full of gossip, but this is a place that caters to men and boys with a sports theme and tvs all over. Doesn't seem like gossip really fits in a place like this.

Guest

You must be extremely young, if you don't know that styling salons are full of gossip. It has been that way forever.

Some of your complaint sounds like baby talk, too.

NO SERVICE!!!!!

I went to sports clips, and gave it another shot after a lady completely messed up my hair by shaving a chunk out of it. (which she never offered me a free haircut after she RUINED MY HAIR!!!) I went back and the lady said 45 minute wait. I live next door to this place. I left and came back exactly 45 minutes later. She had my name crossed off of the list, and helping the last guest. She offered for the other lady who messed my hair up to cut mine again. I said forget it. She said sorry, and did nothing about it. I am livid right now because I made an obligation and followed direction and was completely blown off. I will not tolerate it.

Wasted of Time

Went for a trim in between haircuts. I told them up front that I just wanted the neck trim and they put my name down but did not tell me how long it would be. I ended up waiting and hour and five minutes before I was even seated for my 3-5 minute trim and was offered nothing for the wait. I even ended up having to cancel one of my evening plans because I hadn't expected it to take that long and every five minutes I thought it would just be another five minutes. I have had to wait an hour for a haircut a couple other times before and have been skipped over a couple times. They could at least offer a free MVP upgrade on that visit or next for wasting so much of the customers time. I have sent two complaints to Sport Clips with no response to either even after mentioning looking at other places because of customer service here. This last weekend I started going to another place. I just wish I could find a place that does men's haircuts and takes appointments. They advertise Walk-Ins welcome like it's a good thing. No, that just means you have no idea how long it will take and can't plan accordingly.

You have to sign in and wait your turn just like everyone else. It's a FREE service!

It still has to be entered in to the computer before the stylist can take you to their chair. ALL business has to be recorded whether you are paying full price or taking advantage of their complimentary services.

Geesh, there's no winning with some people.

Either schedule an appointment in advance somewhere take takes them or press your luck. End of story.

*** haircut

Stephanie at Sport Clips Huntersville, NC should find another job. She butchered the back of my hair. The hairline doesn't even make sense. White walls all around the back. The worst part is, this is the second time it has happened. It takes a while to grow back too. Why is it the second time? Because I'm an *** and went back thinking I was going to another stylist that actually cuts good hair. I didn't know it was Stephanie the first time, so when I was pressured into going with Stephanie this time I thought that I would be fine, because no hair stylist would ever think skull *** someone is appropriate. Turns out it was her. She did it again. Beware to all guys in Huntersville, NC. We know who the victims are. They are currently being ridiculed by their coworkers each day that passes for having this homo skull *** haircut.

Promotional Blunder

I have been very pleased with the service and quality of your SportClips store in Kingsport Tennessee. My complaint is on your corporate idiocy. Why sponser a Japanese car in Nascar. Don't americans need you? Aren't you an American company? I will no longer do business with you until this is changed. Chevrolet, Dodge and Ford are all struggling American companies and could use your support. Toyota is a Japanese company. The arrogant Japanese dont even like Americans and you are supporting them. You can do better and be a little more patriotic. Americaqn businesses must support each other to survive.

Debra Sawyer was part of the problem. She owned it then and now what an idiot

Guest

Honey go back Debra Sawyer is there. Maybe you'll get all the respect you think you gave .

Guest

Tony Sawyer was too busy screwing the woman he hired as VP Kerry Davis. He is irresponsive to emails, calls, or handling the real matters at hand due to his sex life.

He has made many employees very upset. He cares merely about his store numbers verses the happiness of his employees.

To the obviously employee who wasn't worth a hire by Sport Clips should not be hired by any company. If you are such a name calling employee that wants to insult the owners you don't deserve to be in the service provider business.

I would not hire you if you are so petty and stoop to name calling. As a owner of Great Clips don't come knocking on our doors we don't want you.

SPORTS CLIPS - Double billed credit card

Took 12 year old son for MVP haircut, and hair product, should have been charged $24 for haircut, $40 plus tax for hair product, but was charged $106.08 on debit card. Was given free haircut, did not buy product and was told charge would be reversed.

BUT discovered the following Monday instead was charged another $106.08. Managers were not concerned, had to get Franchise Owner involved who cut me a check and gave me two Comped Haircuts.

Ower did great job...managers awful job and they had an attitude. Would never have gone back had owner not gotten involved though when I went to store to pick up check same Manager was there and she did not appologize.

Terrible hair cut

I am a 35 year old professional and have been getting my hair cut at Sport Clips (Meyerland location) for years now. I wear my hair pretty full and I informed the new girl that I prefer to keep it a little longer and that I just wanted a trim on the sides, back, and top. I could tell she didn't understand what I was talking about so the other girl working that day (8/8/12) came over and tried to describe what I wanted. The new girl proceeded to get the sheers out and used a 1 gaurd on the sides going up to over 2 inches above my ear. I immedietely told her "NO NO NO, THAT IS WAY TOO SHORT". She just said to let her finish and she'd blend it in. She attempted to do so, but then realized what she'd done, she went to get the other girl to help. My hair is to cut to the scalp along the sides and the entire back. When the other girl cam over, she immediately saw the cut and looked terrified. She apologized several times and had to basically give me a crew cut to fix what had been done. I walked in w/ full hair looking for a trim and walked out w/ what looks like a military cut. I know this isn't a swanky salon and I'm not looking for some cutting edge haircut...but I came out looking ridiculious. It is painful around the edges as my hair has NEVER been this short and I even have razorburn. I now have to go to work looking like this. This is unacceptable. I have a brother and several friends that go to the same location...none of them will be coming back.

Word of advice.......don't let the noobs at these places cut your hair. Find one you like and trust and stick with 'em. If they are not there that day, come back tomorrow!

Guest

I had a similar experience at the Gambrills MD location...they just don't listen to the customer. Word is out...stay away from that place.

Sports Clips Summerville Needs a Makeover

I went to Sports Clips of Summerville SC today and was pleased to see no line but disappointed in not hearing a "welcome". After 15 minutes more customers started coming in and immediately signed in (something I was not told to do). After 25 minutes the employees were free to get to the list of 7 people that came in since me. In spite of knowing I was waiting all that time, they choose to go down the list, thus leaving me out in the cold and without a haircut. Why is this annoying? When I go to the Oakbrook Sports Clips they drop everything to make sure I am logged into their computer, or at least acknowledge my arrival and a promise to be "right with me". Never again...and I will preach that lesson every chance I get.

Sport Clips done everything wrong to me they could do

I was employed with this chop shop and their motto is quanitity over quality. The supervisor to these stores in ms and la has no clue how to be a supervisor, she is just a hair chopper as well and to beat all the one that owns these salons can't even figure this out. All of the good workers are ran off for any little reason just to make the back stabbers look good. Now there is always drama in every salon, but this nice to your face with a dagger in your back is for the birds. So gentlemen, I WARN YOU, if you want good service, go where you are not treated like an assembly line.

Sport Clips Carbondale is the worst!!

Rolled the dice on a haircut at Sport Clips Carbondale today, and I must say that I could have given myself a better haircut with a gasoline hedge clippers. The oversized beauty school droupout that cut my hair proceeded to shave nearly my entire head, while leaving a small strip of long hair down the middle of my head making me now have the appearance of either an ultimat fighter, or a 6'5 inch chicken. Upon inspection when I returned home I also noticed that one sideburn was a full 3/4" longer than the other. Seriously you have to try to be more inept than this girl. I can't remember her name, but rest assured that even Helen Keller would have been more talented than this dufus!!!!

Lazy employees

Do not go to the Sports Clips in Frederick MD! Its a waste of time for something that can be gotten elsewhere for the same price. Not worth the two hours it takes. Though the cut is enjoyable, more than once I have walked out of the salon after waiting half an hour or more for a cut. If the stylists were actually working, it would be one thing, but most of the time the girls are spending more time talking and texting than they are actually working. I walked into a Sports Clips today and saw both girls standing around, "cleaning" while there were customers who had been waiting for 45 minutes. I walked out. There is no use going to a salon that knowingly wastes the customers time. Would not recommend going unless you like sitting in uncomfortable chairs and watching ESPN on mute.

At Sport Clips the Stylists vacuum up the previous clients hair, clean and sanitize their station after EACH AND EVERY client. No exceptions :) Sometimes it takes a while for clients to get used to this because the store is not loaded with hair and dirty tools which they may be used to seeing at other barbershops/salons/franchisees.

Some stores have employees that are not licensed to cut so they take care of the front desk, telephone, cleaning and other duties to help out the stylists and ensure that clients are checked in and out. As for taking their time, just Try and imagine standing on your feet for atleast 5 hours doing haircut after haircut, talking to sometimes 10+ people, helping moms get their kids to sit still so they can look good for school pictures, making sure clients are using the right shampoo so they don't have those embarrassing flakes, taking clients with a smile after their shift has already ended, remembering names faces & birthdays, accepting your coupons after expiration, constantly being rediculed and sometimes mocked for others mistakes on your hair ALL WHILE sometimes working through lunch/bathroom breaks (bc we want to) , missing holidays most people have off for, working weekends, giving up family events (bc most are on the weekend and that's when most salons are busiest), getting kicked by screaming kids, and god forbid we check our phones! I know - we are LAZY!!!! Just think to yourself.

Would you give all that up? If your boss gave you a stack of papers at 5:01 when you were scheduled till 5?

Sometimes we don't even recieve a tip! But still we take our next client because life goes on and we do it for the love of the industry and in this case sport clips!

Guest

Actually, in Maryland, they are required by law to sweep up all loose hair between customers. If you are going to another barber shop in Maryland that is not doing it they are breaking the law.

Guest

Most likely the folks you saw cleaning are actually receptionists and not stylists. The receptionists at Sport Clips are unlicensed to cut hair, but may aspire to attend cosmetology school one day to get licensed.

Sometimes they are just High School kids working for minimum wage.

In any case, they don't cut hair. Are you sure you saw lazy stylists?

Guest

I guess you'd rather they be cutting hair than cleaning up the shop. If they didn't clean up the shop then you'd complain about that instead.

Just another whiny person from Fredneck. Thanks for the laugh.
